SERVICE · POWER QUALITY

Power quality studies, measured in the field

We install a class A analyzer (IEC 61000-4-30) on your switchboard or transformer, record the real operation and deliver the cause of the problem with the sized solution and its payback.

WHEN DO YOU NEED IT?

Problems we solve

💸You are charged for reactive energy

We find where the reactive power comes from hour by hour and size the capacitor bank that removes it (under the applicable utility rules; in Colombia, CREG 015 of 2018).

🔥Hot transformers and neutrals

Harmonic currents and imbalance that heat equipment without increasing the useful load.

⚡Drives and equipment that fail

Burned boards, unexplained trips, damaged capacitors: we look for sags, swells, transients and resonances.

📈Harmonics out of limits

We measure THD and TDD per harmonic against IEEE 519 and compare solutions: reactors, passive and active filters.

🔌Load expansions

Before connecting more motors or drives, we find out how much real capacity is left in the transformer.

🧾Support with the utility

Records and analysis to discuss a charge, a complaint or a power quality requirement with data.

WHAT WE MEASURE

A complete record of your network

Typical recording of 7 days to cover a full week of operation. For specific diagnoses we do shorter measurements.

HOW WE WORK

From measurement to solution

  1. Site visit and reviewWe walk the installation, review bills, diagrams and loads, and define the measuring point.
  2. Analyzer installationSafe connection, following your plant's procedures and permits, and recording of real operation.
  3. AnalysisWe compare against IEEE 519, IEC 61000 and the local rules (in Colombia, CREG 015 of 2018 and NTC 5001) and find the root cause.
  4. Report and solutionA technical report with charts, the sized solution (capacitor bank, detuning, filter), its cost, savings and payback.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Before we start

Does the plant have to stop to install the analyzer?

Usually not. The connection follows your plant's safety procedures and permits. If the panel cannot be safely connected while energized, a short outage window is arranged.

How long does the study take?

The typical recording is 7 days. The report is delivered after the analysis, according to the agreed scope.

Do you work outside Putumayo?

Yes. We are based in Mocoa, Colombia, and serve Putumayo, Caquetá, Nariño, Huila and other regions depending on scope. Data analysis and reports can be done remotely from anywhere.

What do I receive at the end?

A technical report with the results, charts, comparison against the standards, the cause of the problem and the recommended solution with a reference budget and payback.
